2013年地球将迎来史上最亮彗星

英国《每日邮报》近日刊载报道称，一颗名为ISON的彗星将会在明年年底掠过地球。而这颗彗星也被认为是地球近百年内可直接观察到的明亮度最高的彗星。 据报道引用的科学资料介绍显示，这颗名为ISON的彗星目前正在向太阳系内部行进，其在进入太阳系之后第一个遇到的将会是木星。之所以这颗彗星会引起天文学家如此的关注是因为它的明亮度将是地球近百年观测史中最亮的一颗。 据测算当ISON飞过木星到达地球附近时，其明亮度将会是月球的15倍，其彗尾更是长达数十万公里。届时，地球上的人们将能够直接用肉眼看到这颗美丽的太空旅行者。 根据科学家的计算，也许太阳系就将是ISON漫长太空旅途的最后一站，因为其最终会被太阳的引力所捕获而成为一颗略日彗星。当ISON在接近太阳时如果轨道离太阳表面太近的话，那么它将直接被灼热的气流吞噬殆尽。 不过，科学家还强调称这只是一种推测，具体情况目前还不能最终确定。而假如ISON能够逃脱太阳的束缚，那么它或将在数百万年后再次造访太阳系。据介绍，ISON将会在2013年11月至12月份之间飞抵地球轨道附近。 1997年造访地球的“海尔波普”彗星 美国阿拉斯加上空的“海尔波普”彗星   来自： http://news.mydrivers.com/1/242/242868.htm
